Battalion Chief Javier Lara

Michael Alforque

Michael Alforque, Captain/Assistant Training Officer-Training 1

Captain Alforque has served the Fresno Fire Department for 14 years, and has been assigned to both engine and truck companies in high-volume areas within its jurisdiction. He is currently an Acting Battalion Chief, member of both the Hazardous Materials Team and Probationary Firefighters Group, and is a Trustee for the City of Fresno Health and Welfare Trust. Prior to joining Fresno Fire, he worked for the Kern County Fire Department.

Captain Alforque has instructed basic EMT, Defibrillation, and Recruit Academy for Fresno Fire. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and a Master of Science Degree in Administration from California State University, Bakersfield. In addition, he is a Certified Chief and Fire Officer by the California State Fire Marshall.

Key Responsibilities - Incident safety officer; development of the annual and two-year training plans; inservice battalion chief training; multicompany drill planning and coordination; specialty team training; training facilities; and facilitation and participation in multi-agency training.

 

 

 
Chad Brisendine

Chad Brisendine, Firefighter/Assistant Training Officer - Training 3

Chad Brisendine has served the Fresno Fire Department for the last seven years, and has the pleasure of working in the downtown area for most of tht time. He has served on the Hazardous Materials Response Team and is an active member of the Investigations Unit. Chad was a paramedic in a busy system prior to joining the Fresno Fire Department. He has instructed training in the areas of: firefighting techniques; hasMat and terrorism response; EMS systems and delivery; and has developed a class on Improvised Explosives Recognition for First Responders.

Key Responsibilities - Assitant Training Officer and EMS Coordinator responsible for development of monthly training; multicompany drills; Quality Assurance and compliance of the EMT program; EMT training and continuing education; liaison to the local EMS agency, hospitals and local ALS/BLS providers; Safety Committee member; and infection control liaison.

 

 

 
Christine Boozer

Christine Boozer, Training Officer/Curriculum Specialist - Training 2

Christine began her career with the Fresno City Fire Department in March 2007, and serves as curriculum specialist. She completed her B.A. degree at CSU Fresno, her California teaching credential from Fresno Pacific University, and her M.S. Ed. degree with an emphasis in Online Learning and Teaching at CSU Hayward. Christine brings over twenty years of experience in the fields of education and training, technology and human resource management.

Key Responsibilities - Civilian Training Officer, Curriculum Specialist responsible for: course design; development, implementation and administration of the Distributive Learning Program and Learning Management System (LMS); maintenance of the Training Records Management System; website development and maintenance; working with outside agencies (CJAC, FCC, CSF, CSTI, NFA) for course certification and program reporting; and course development and delivery.

Judi Huss.

Judi Huss, Senior Secretary - Training Division's Unofficial Support System

Judi was a member of the Department’s Training Division team from September of 2005 through February of 2011, and still continues to support training efforts in spite of her very busy schedule as Senior Secretary for Prevention. She brings more than twenty years of office management experience in both the private and public sectors. In addition, she holds a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Minnesota.
